Avatar: The Last Airbender

The old war, a new generation. With the defeat of Avatar Aang, and of Ozai\'s airfleet, each nation is left vunerable. A new avatar has been born into the water tribes, and must restore balance to the world before it is engulfed in chaos.

The Avatar's Journey - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: The Avatar's Journey   The Avatar's Journey - Page 3 Icon_minitimeFri Jan 28, 2011 12:24 am

First topic message reminder :

A young woman wearing a red cloak in the village of Shu Jing slipped out of sight from the villagers that were hustling around peacefully and headed towards the thick trees that surrounded the beautiful village. There she came to two large wide trees with their branches covering a opening towards a waterfall she was heading to, climbing the tree with slight difficulty she finally made it to the large hole and moved its branches before climbing in and sliding down.

When reaching the end she gracefully landed on a wide thick black stone platform that was wet from the calm river that was rushing ontop of it. The woman slipped off her cloak and hung it on a convienent stone point before taking a few steps on to the smooth platform, with water up to her ankles she smiled remembering her home. Her master was right about this place and right now the young woman wanted only one thing and that was to let loose with some waterbending she was unable to do freely since arriving in the Fire Nation.

She had heard from the villagers that there was a wise and strong firebender residing at the village, but in her mind she figured someone that skilled is rarely at their home anyway. So in return she had felt very safe and secure here feeling as if no one knew about this so called secret place her Master from the Southern water tribe informed her about before she left home.

End of Kiara's Post____________________________________________

[Because I (Mattias) failed at moving a topic, the original post was deleted. So I'm just going to post what that post stated right here.]

The night is always silent... He stood on a cliff, looking over the edge at the valley below. An icy wind blew across the man, causing ice to coat parts of his cloak, as black as the night. His breath came out of his mouth, a slow steady breath, instantly freezing and was blown away with the wind. Gust after gust came. In the distance, the peaceful village of Shu Jing lay. A few flickering lights could be seen, but the forges had long gone silent for the day. The night is always silent... and all is well.

The man backed away from the edge of the cliff, his boots leaving footprints in the gathering frost. Turning, he let his back face the wind allowing his hood to protect his face. Closing his eyes, he brought his hands in an arc bringing them in front of his chest. As he did this, he slid his feet on the slick ground, spreading his legs apart. He breathed in deeply, letting his lungs warm the gathered air, before releasing it. As he did a small flame grew in his hands, growing into the size of his fist. It flickered, changing colors from red to orange, then back to red. Then without warning, he opened his eyes and with an explosive energy despite the cold he extended his arms. The fire spit following each fist, growing the whole time. A great blast of fire came from each of his fists, illuminating his face briefly. As the blasts reached their peaks, he brought his arms to sides angling his hands outward. The pillars of flames arced, forming twin circles on either side. Then it was broken.

A great screech rang through the air, piercing the dead silence of the night. The flames dispersed and in their last glow, a bird could be seen approaching him. Slowly it decended, before landing a few feet in front of the man. The man approached the bird, opening his hand. A small flame appeared in his palm, illuminating a tube on the back of the bird. Using his free hand, he opened the tube and pulled out the scroll. Slowly, with the glow from the flame, he read the scroll. A frown spread across his face, and he tucked the scroll into an inside pocket of his cloak before turning and walking away.

Kiara looked at Mattias and was already thinking back to the match that her and Azula had finished just an hour or two ago. Now that she had thought about it Azula did not seem to really be like Kiara was told she was. Even threw the match Kiara was feeling like something had been off but due to her rage she believe that she had simply shrugged it off after scourning the land and the soldiers who were attacking her.

"Mattias..I need a Master."

Was all that the Southern Water Tribe woman had said before looking away from him and staring back into the direction of the village.

"If I cannot learn from you yet then it may be best if I go to the air temples to find an air nomad."

Mattias looked at her long and hard, contemplating what he should say. He knew that it was his duty to train her, yet at the same time, if he did, Azula would be alerted to the avatar's presence. He thought about this for some time before answering.

"The future is always in motion water-bender. However my destiny takes me in a different course at the time. I must track down Azula, and solve this mystery. Perhaps soon, I will see you again."

[Actually the real reason is I need to stop watching this topic for the moment so I can get to work on the site reboot. I might duck in the topic every now and then, or start my own.]

[Yeah, sorry fer that wait, forgot about this site, and been kinda held up by everything been happening..]

Dachou blinked and took a step back as Mattais appeared before their very eyes. He hadn't realized he was there. He didn't even know him. He looked at the two, talking, than Kiara mentioning needing a Master.

"What do you need a Master of?"

He asked curiously. Maybe he could help her. These people already seemed attached to him some way. He couldn't describe it. He just knew.. that they were important.

Kiara smiled a bit of a sad one before looking at Mattias with a calm look, "Well..maybe thats the best decision as of right now." When he called her a water bender Kiara winced slightly at the name not liking it at all.

"Mattias just call me Kiara please.." She shook his hand as a formal goodbye before nodding his way, "Be extra careful, and always be on your toes."

When Mattias started heading his seperate way Kiara suddenly heard Dachou and looked over at him with a small nervous smile; she had said more then she needed to but she believed as of now she could trust him seeing that fact that he would eventually figure out who she was exactly.

"I need three more masters..for um.."

Looking around the girl still did not feel entirely safe letting her secret out like this, looking at Dachou she helped him up, stared at him and then sighed just a bit. "Is there anywhere we can go and talk about this privately??"

Dachou looked at her, than around, than his eyes brightened.

"My house! My sister probably is in the kitchen, and my Grandmother in the bedroom, so my own room would suffice."

He patted his Sais on his belt, and nodded at her, than spun around on his heels. He walked gracefully.... and nobley tripped on a rock and faceplanted. He got up, and brushed himself off, laughing nervously. He stood straight up, clearing 6 feet of air. He continued on, like nothing happened.

Kiara walked beside him but then blinked when he seemed to trip on a simple rock. She wanted to ask was he okay but before she was even able to ask or even help Dachou up he jumped up and started walking again like nothing had happened at all.

Kiara blinked and stopped holding her stomach trying her best not to laugh at his way of trying to play the fall off but she just burst out into laughing,

"You are a very weird but funny man."

She smiled brightly his way before patting his back and walking a bit ways ahead of him.

"Thank you, my sister claims that I'm adopted."

He said, smiling warmly. He bushed a stray branch out of their way, showing them the village of Shu jing. And Lo and Behold, his grandmothers house was just a few steps ahead.

His grin slowly leaving his face, Dachou pushed the door open, just as someone was about to leave, almost knocking her back.

"Dachou!"
"Aikou!"
"What are you doing??"
"I was going to get some fresh bread from the market. What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be back for another month."
"I have a friend, here, Aikou."

He pushed his sister out of the way and tip-toed down the small hallway, hoping Kiara would follow, passing a simple doorway, a shrill and elderly shriek could be heard.

"Dachou! What are you doing here?! Did you bring my Tea Leaves?!?

Screeched his Grandmother. an inaudible groan escaped his mouth as he said no. HIs grandmother let out another shriek and began yelling at him. Dachou looked from her chair, which was facing the empty wall for some reason, and to Kiara, than, puting a finger to his lip, he slowly walked into his room, beckoning her to do the same.

Kiara smiled a bit and was about to say something else until his sister and him started talking well..argueing somewhat. When he started moving she quickly bowed to his sister respectfully and rushed inside to follow him closely.

As they passed a doorway with a simple chair in it Kiara could not help but look in as soon as the elderly woman started shreiking. Wincing a bit at her high pitched voice they young girl covered her ears and quickly ran into Dachou's room once he escorted her to it.

Once inside she took her hands down from her ears and looked around in his room, "Nice place you have here."

Dachou looked out the doorway, and slammed the door to his room shut. rubbing his ears, he said,

"Yeah, thanks."

His light colored hair fell over his eyes as he shoook his head. Scratching his neck, he walked slowly to the wall, and asked her while leaning on it,

"You need masters for what?"

He folded his arms across his chest and breathed slowly.

Kiara watched him carefully up until the moment he seemed to relax a bit against the wall. Looking to her left then right she had found a chair and sat herself in it. Making sure it was comfortable the young girl seemed to look his straight in the face before answering his question.

"I need masters for the elements of Air, Earth and Fire..I have mastered Water already.."

Rubbing the back of her neck nervously a nervous laugh emmited from her mouth as she smiled a half smile.

"I guess I can tell you that I am the avatar."

Dachou was no excepting this. He thought perfaps she needed a master of bith control, because her friend and her got a little to excited or something. But she is the avatar?! Than, he remembered the past avatar. He died, and now reincarnated. Facing her, his eyes wide, he pushed himself off the rouch, rock wall. He began pacing.

"The Avatar..."

He began murmuring. What was she doing here than? Oh, yeah, she mentioned teachers. Of all four elements? So, if he agreed, they would need an Earth and Air bender, also. So.. He would be forced to meet other people. But he yearned for something out of this Nation. It's biased rules and stupid heads were annoying him greatly. And, he would be able to get back at Azula... He had always loathed her

"I'll be your teacher. For fire."

He finally said, standing up straight. He attempted at a grin, but it was kinda hard, considering the circumstances.

Kiara studied his movements and facial expressions as soon as she had admitted about who she really was. A weight had seemed to lift of her shoulders once she did tell him however because of the simple fact that very few people could be trusted with a secret that big.

"Yes I am the Avatar..I dont look threatening do I?"

The young Southern water tribe woman laughed lightly making the situation for her more easier. But when he suggested being her master for fire she couldn't help but choke a bit in disbelief.

"You can't put your life on the line like that..are you sure? I mean maybe we should go find a earth bender first."

"Yes, you look very threatening... like how a dead chicken is dangerous."

Dachou said, smiling slightly, the load taken off. He than frowned again as she sputtered out her words. He scratched his head and shifted uncomfortabley from foot to foot

"I mean, yeah, I'm sure. I like a little adventure. And it's not like I'm on Azulas good side any time."

He said. folding his arms across his chest again, and puffing it out. He squinted his eyes around the room, watching the walls. Maybe it wasn't so safe to talk in here after all... His grandmother might hear.

Kiara made a pout at his expression but laughed a bit once he started smiling. When he frowned she took his hand and smimled lightly, "It'll be fun I promise."

Once he replied with the Azula statement Kiara opened her water container bending a string of it into her mouth as she capped it up again.

"Well lets get going to the earth nation!"

She grabbed his hand tighter after opening his bedroom door and rushing out the way they had came in. But once she stopped in the middle of the clearing they were once at she frowned, "Which way is the earth nation anyway.."

Dachou stumbled along with Kiara, narrowly avoiding a vase thrown at him by his grandmother.

"How dare you leave without telling me!!"

SHe roared it ferociously. Dachou groaned, She is going to kill me when I get back.. He thought miserabley. Than, everything halted. Kiara had stopped, but Dachou apparently hadn't. He kept stumbling, and finally tripped over himself, giving an epic faceplant to the ground. He got to his hands and feet, muttering. Than he stood up, his knees hurting.

" Don't know. I barely even know where in the world the Fire Nation is. I just go and hope I don't die."

Kiara could not help but look back at the sound of glass shattering. When Dachou finally looked at her a smile crossed her face and when she halted and saw his epic face plant she helped him up and looked him over,

"Is anything hurting? You are quiet the clumsy man." Once he explained his method of traveling a nervous laugh softly escaped her lips. The girl thought long and hard pacing back and fourth for about fifteen minutes. Then once an idea popped into her head her blue eyes locked with Dachou's eyes.

"Wait! Lets go to the main part of town and ask for a map! Maybe that way I can memorize the landmarks and what not."

"Thanks. I get it from one of my ancestors. They tripped over a rock and fell in a hole of rabid Bears.. Or something."

He joked. Dachou nodded at her plan, and he grinned mischeviously.

"I know just the person. He was my dad's friend, before he left us. He'll be willing to help me."

Dachou brushed his brown sleeveless shirt, and tucked his Sais in deeper into his belt. He didn't want them falling out.

Kiara decided to go against her own Idea and have her guide take her to the earth nation instead. Her guide or what she preferred companion was far too intelligent to be used just as a ride.

After about a half hour of walking the young girl frowned remembering about her friend Mattias. She wouldn't help but be worried even though they had just met but then a swift mood change to anger took over. He did leave her there to fight Azula and expose who she really was and he had the nerve to up and leave.

"Huh..some future master of mine..."

After humming a soft and quick tune a serpent could be seen circling the shore line as if it was waiting for her to come to it. Kiara blew on the ocean as a frozen narrow path was created to the serpent. Once on she rubbed its sides in a relaxing manner and threw on her cloak to conceal herself.

"Come on boy, lets get going. The earth nation it our next destination."

Without another word her companion swiftly and snake like cut in the water like no other animal could have. She knew within a matter of a day or two she would be on Earth Nation soil.
